11:45 - Humble, Hungry, Smart
EditIn this week's 11:45, Charlie rolled out a new initiative based on the key concepts from the book "The Ideal Team Player." By focusing on the traits of being humble, hungry, and smart, we can foster a more positive, collaborative, and successful work environment.
#### Key Takeaways:
Humble: Continuously learn and grow
- Embrace a growth mindset and be open to new ideas and perspectives
- Acknowledge your strengths and weaknesses, and actively work on self-improvement
- Celebrate your colleagues' successes and support their development
Hungry: Strive for excellence
- Set ambitious goals and push yourself to achieve them
- Maintain a strong work ethic and consistently deliver high-quality results
- Proactively seek out new challenges and opportunities for growth
Smart: Understanding people and relationships
- Develop emotional intelligence and empathy to better understand and connect with others
- Communicate clearly, actively listen, and provide constructive feedback
- Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive team environment
#### The Humble, Hungry, & Smart Initiative
Three ways to participate:
- Email examples of colleagues demonstrating humble, hungry, or smart behaviors to _humblehungrysmart@kimmel.com_
- Be recognized by others for exhibiting these traits through emails sent to the same address
- Attend any of the upcoming roundtables (Recruiting, Big Billers, or Collaboration/Support) at least once
Roundtables and teams:
- Recruiting Roundtable: Open to all, focusing on sharing ideas and strategies to overcome recruiting challenges, especially in technology
- Big Billers Roundtable: By invitation, providing a platform for top performers to exchange insights and best practices
- Collaboration/Support Group: In development, aimed at offering a space for employees to connect, share experiences, and support one another
- Team reformation: Within the next 3-4 weeks, teams of around 8 will be formed to foster collaboration, idea-sharing, and team-building activities
Celebration and recognition:
- If everyone participates, the company will host a special lunch celebration to recognize our collective efforts
By incorporating these principles into our daily work, we can unlock our full potential as individuals and as a team.
