Splits

Edit

The Splits Policy outlines the splits policy on placements. The policy also provides guidelines for job order referrals and candidate referrals.

Within 1st year of input – Consultant:

  • 10% for initial entry of candidate in PCR
  • 15% for Original Resume
  • Resume updates do not receive Split credit

Within 1st Year of input - Kimmel Admin:

  • 5% for initial entry of candidate in PCR
  • 5% for Original Resume
  • Resume updates do not receive Split credit

 After 1st year – Consultant:

  • 5% for initial entry of candidate in PCR
  • 5% for Original Resume

After 1st Year – Kimmel Admin:

Digital Recruiting:

  • For placements of Digital Recruiting sourced candidates there is an additional 5% split
  • Example: New candidate applies and is placed with 1st year: 10% + 5% = 15% Split
  • Example: Existing candidate applies and is placed after 1st year of input: 5% + 5% = 10% Split

Resume updates for Digital Recruiting sourced candidates receive Split credit

\* Note: Sometimes it is necessary for a consultant to replace a candidate for whom you received a split. This could result in an adjustment to billings and/or commission that you have received. If commission needs to be adjusted, Kimmel & Associates will always work with you to make that process as smooth as possible.

Guidelines/Suggestions/Tips:

  • The accounting department generally will not be your best guide in deciding who should get a split – though they can give a general idea of what most people do.
  • Job Order Referrals – (no hard and fast rules – just guidelines)
  • Good client/relationship on a search you could easily work – 25%.
  • Heads up on something that you have heard about or somebody referred you to – but you don’t have a direct relationship – 10%.
  • Candidate Referrals - Considerations for a larger split than the letter of the law above.
  • Long term relationships.
  • Already interviewing.
  • Easily marketable and you asked for hands off.
  • Candidate was someone’s hiring authority.
  • Generosity – you would like that consultant to help you again.
  • General Observations/Considerations
  • Be generous – it comes back to you.
  • Don’t let the policy or guideline limit the split size.
  • Our experience is that if you are wondering what you should give – that is a sign you should give more.
  • Our experience is that only the person making the deal knows the proper split because each deal is unique.

Golden Rule of Splits

  • “Would I have made this deal without \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_?”
  • If the answer is that you wouldn’t – give 25%.
